Q. When are Ontario Savings Bonds on sale?
A. Generally, OSB’s are on sale during the first three weeks of June.
 
Q. When are the interest rates for the new series of Ontario Savings Bonds announced?
A. The interest rates for the new series of OSBs are generally announced on the first day of sales. Click here to view the new OSB interest rates.
 
Q. When can Ontario Savings Bonds certificates be picked up from the financial institution in which they were purchased?
A. OSB certificates are generally available for pick up from the financial institution in which they were purchased after the civic holiday in August, i.e., on August 2, 2016.
 
Q. Are Ontario Savings Bonds and Canada Savings Bonds the same?
A. No. Ontario Savings Bonds and Canada Savings Bonds are not the same. OSBs are 100 per cent backed by the province of Ontario while CSBs are issued by the Federal Government.
 
Q. Are Ontario Savings Bonds insured by the Canadian Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC)?
A. No. OSBs are not insured by CDIC. OSBs are backed 100 per cent by the Province of Ontario.
